Manly Chess Club Spring Tournament and Handicap Championship 2005.
This Swiss tournament (one grade for all players) will be run over the later part of the year on the Mondays between September 12 to December 5 2005. See our Club Program for details.
Rules This tournament will be run along normal Swiss rules, utilising Swiss Perfect software for determining the draw. As well as place prizes for first, second and third there will be a handicap prize.
Time Limit: Players will have 90 minutes for all their moves plus an extra 30 seconds per move. This time limit can be applied using the Digital clocks, on setting 23.
Handicap Points Allocation: A half point for every 100 rating points (or part thereof) below 1,700 in the range 1,001 to 1,700. Players rated less than 1,001 will be treated as if their rating is 1,001.
There will also be an Upset Prize for the player obtaining the win with the largest point gap between the lower rated winner and the higher rated loser. [Jonathan Adams, Tournament Arbiter]
